Help and references
Where to go for official information and qualified help.
Stop and get qualified help if...
- You may lose your home or an essential service such as power or water.
- You received a legal notice, court paper or demand letter.
- You cannot meet essentials such as food, rent or medicine.
- You think you are the target of fraud, or you have shared a code or password.
- You are being threatened, harassed or pressured about money.
- The tax or legal situation is complex, such as cross-border income, inheritance or a dispute.
Contact a qualified local professional, a free advice service in your country, or the relevant official body. Do not pay anyone upfront who promises to fix your debt or recover money.

How we source our content
Each lesson lists its references. Worked examples use invented numbers, labelled as illustrations. Local claims carry a country, a source and a review date.
